St John’s Police Station

The St. John’s Police Station is situated across Church Street from the Courthouse (now the Museum), making it easy to transport prisoners to court. The building was erected in 1772 and has been modified over the years. From about 1830, the compound was the Police Headquarters, but in 1978 it became the St. John’s Police Station when the new Police Headquarters was built on American Road. It has recently been renovated.
